Anglo American Communications Summit
HKLM is the below-the-line partner to this leading international mining group. We undertake a wide range of brand and multi-disciplinary services, spanning tactical marketing collateral; a series of exhibition events, including its significant participation at the annual Mining Indaba; through sponsorship activations such as the Cape Town Jazz Festival and the Young Communicator Ambassadors; and a myriad social and enterprise development initiatives, such as the national rollout of the Zimele hubs, with supporting brand and communication material. Digital animation guidelines have also been developed through London for international standards adoption.
As part of its drive to deliver unified and benchmark communication, Anglo American’s global communications team meets once a year for an annual communications summit.
HKLM was tasked with developing an interactive event that provided delegates with a fresh and unique conference experience.
The result was a multi-disciplinary experiential campaign, leading up to, and appearing at the event. HKLM developed a teaser video campaign using innovative motion graphic techniques, an iPad app to replace traditional conference material, and an interactive conference website. iPads were also sourced for use at the event.
A unique team building activity was conceptualised, resulting in the Anglo American team creating its own song, involving some of the best musical talent South Africa has on offer.
